With funding from the Be Connected Program, COTA ACT is offering a free half-day course to help train digital mentors to support members of the community build confidence in using devices and navigating the internet. The training can be delivered at your workplace or at the COTA ACT office in Hughes.
What is a digital mentor?
Being a digital mentor is about inspiring people to try using technology and supporting them through using computers, mobile devices and the internet. There are still many people who need help to use the internet, mobile devices and learn essential skills so they have the confidence to go online safely.
How will the training help?
The training will increase the skills and confidence to assist people in the community to increase their digital literacy and help you support people through their first steps using digital devices and the internet and improve their digital skills. You will learn the language and techniques needed to support someone, and the possible barriers that people who are new to using digital devices can experience.
COTA ACT has been delivering successful digital literacy workshops and support for more than two years through our Get IT program with our digital mentors, assisting hundreds of people to increase their digital knowledge and use mobile devices.
