Council on the Ageing (COTA) ACT is currently recruiting volunteers.
COTA ACT relies on a strong volunteer base and encourages and values the participation of volunteer staff who enhance the work that we do as an organisation.
COTA ACT works to shape a just and equitable society for older Canberrans. The staff and current volunteers work with older Canberrans to assist with and empower them to create a fair community in which they feel they can participate and contribute to their fullest.
COTA ACT believes older people should have access to the support they need to live fulfilled, dignified and happy lives. COTA ACT provides a range of free services to COTA members and the Canberra community and our volunteers are a big part of contributing to this vision.
Our volunteers bring to the organisation their skills and experiences from the many years of work and a life full of experiences across Australia and around the world in many different professions.
There are several roles for volunteers that COTA ACT appreciates and values highly including:
- administration
- data entry
- research and developing policy
- assisting with events, and
- as members of the Board of Management.
