ACT Seniors Card – applications now online preview image

Council on the Ageing (COTA) ACT administers the ACT Seniors Card program on behalf of the ACT Government which is part of an Australia-wide scheme that recognises the valuable contribution of older people in their local community.

COTA ACT is pleased to announce that the application process to receive or renew your ACT Seniors Card has now been moved online. You are still welcome to come into the office and apply in person by filling out a form, though the online process has been put in place and is now available.

As of 1 July 2020, permanent residents of the ACT, aged 60 years or over who work less than 20 hours per week in paid employment can apply for an ACT Seniors Card.

The ACT Seniors Card is issued free and offer access to savings on a range of goods and services provided by participating businesses. A combination of government and private businesses make up the more than 300 participating organisations that provide a number of benefits and discounts on a wide range of goods and services.

All ACT Seniors Cards are combined with the Transport Canberra MyWay cards, which allows one card for both public transport access as well as seniors card discounts and services.

Staff at COTA ACT will assist you in completing the online application form over the phone. Or COTA ACT staff can mail a hard copy of the form to you, or you can come into the COTA office at the Hughes Community Centre to receive personal assistance.

To apply for an ACT Seniors Card or for more information, visit the ACT Seniors Card website or phone 6282 3777 or email seniorscard@cotaact.org.au.
