On 28 October 2020, Council on the Ageing (COTA) ACT will host a donation campaign called #ReimaginingAgeing Double Donation Day. COTA ACT is one of 30 charity groups selected by Beyond Bank to participate in their Double Donation Day campaign.
How does it work?
On 28 October 2020, Beyond Bank will dollar match up to $5000 of donations received by COTA ACT. We aim to raise $5000 which means Beyond Bank will match this so that COTA ACT will receive a total of $10,000. The funds will be used to support our programs that assist senior Canberrans affected by COVID-19. This includes:
– Get IT – This program assists senior Canberrans to get online. Seniors can learn how to get online and become confident with using technology. These learning sessions are designed to assist seniors with staying in touch with their community, family and friends and be a resource for finding information online.
– Pandemic Players Theatre Project – This project explores the impact and experiences COVID-19 lockdown restrictions have had on senior Canberrans. The participants will work with local theatre professionals from Rebus Theatre to explore feelings of loneliness and isolation as well as marginalisation and look at wellbeing, methods of healing and building resilience.
From 6.30am on Wednesday 28 October, we will provide a link from the home page of the COTA ACT website to the Beyond Bank web page where donations can be made. For now, save the date and get ready to support COTA ACT on our #ReimaginingAgeing Double Donation Day.
