Changes in age eligibility for ACT Seniors Cards

Changes in age eligibility for ACT Seniors Cards

From 1 July 2017, the eligibility age for applying for an ACT Seniors Card will gradually increase to 65 years from 1 July 2025.

This is a result of an ACT Budget decision announced in 2016. 

  • From 1 July 2017, the eligibility age will rise to 61 years.
  • From 1 July 2019, the eligibility age will rise to 62 years.
  • From 1 July 2021, the eligibility age will rise to 63 years.
  • From 1 July 2023, the eligibility age will rise to 64 years.
  • From 1 July 2025, the eligibility age will rise to 65 years.

The change in eligibility age will not impact current Seniors Card holders.
